Gottes Land: Exegetische Studien zur Land-Thematik im Hoseabuch in kanonischer Perspektive
Keita, Katrin

Hildesheim: Olms, 2007 pp. 358. Ä45.30

Series Information
Theologische Texte und Studien, 13

Description: This study of the land texts in the Book of Hosea takes as its starting point the current political conflict in the land which both Israelis and Palestinians claim as their own. These claims are constantly being supported by reference to biblical texts. In addition, an ideologisation of the land can be diagnosed on both sides. The aim of the study is to investigate whether the texts in Hosea support human claims to the land or in fact reject them. The Book of Hosea was chosen as the subject of the study because it is one of the oldest writings in the Old Testament and pursues a very individual concept of land, one that is critical of ideology.

Subjects: Bible, Hebrew Bible/Old Testament, Prophetic Literature, Book of the Twelve, Literature, Hosea
