Description: This thesis examines the history of the text and transmission of the Book of Tobit. In the Greek Bible, there are two different versions of the Book of Tobit, and these are related here to the fragments of the story of Tobit found in Qumran. The study aims to determine the original form of the text of the Book of Tobit and to draw conclusions about the way ancient translators worked and about the origins of this biblical narrative.

Subjects: Bible, Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha, Old Testament Apocrypha, Tobit, Literature
