Description: Die in den Prophetenbüchern überlieferten Texte sind nach Hermann Gunkels Urteil "das Gewaltigste unter dem an Gewaltigem so reichen Alten Testament". Sie geben vor, Gottes persönliches Wort zu sein. Die Propheten haben dieses Wort in ihre je eigene poetische Sprachform gefasst und so zunächst mündlich, später auch schriftlich zum Ausdruck gebracht. In über hundert Textanalysen wird das rhetorische Profil und die stilistische Eigenart der prophetischen Worte untersucht, um dem Geheimnis näher zu kommen, was denn in diesen kunstvollen Reden zu hören war.
